"Adopting an Identity"

Best Documentary, Canada Independent Film Festival, 2018

In 2016, I worked as a reporter, editor and producer of a short documentary "Adopting an Identity". A team of four and I spoke with three Indigenous individuals from various backgrounds who had all been adopted by non-Indigenous families.

We took a look at how they relate to their cultural identity, as well as the present and past issues with adoption and foster care in Canada's Indigenous communities.
